If you are an incoming 7th or 8th grader (woodwinds and brass)...

There are two options for you: Cadet Band (no audition) or Concert Band (audition required).

First, sign up for Cadet Band. If you are interested in auditioning for a higher ensemble (Concert Band), email the director for audition and placement information. Auditions happen at the end of April each year.

PERCUSSIONISTS - Sign up for Percussion Ensemble.
If you are an incoming 9th through 12th grader....

WOODWINDS AND BRASS: Sign up for Symphonic Band, but schedule an ensemble placement audition as soon as possible. Chair placement auditions will happen at the beginning of the school year.

PERCUSSIONISTS: Sign up for Percussion Ensemble.

If interested in being in Marching Band, this is a separate class to sign up for. Note: it is Casteel Band Policy that in order to be in Marching Band, they must also be enrolled in a primary concert band during the school day. Some exceptions can be made - email the director with these questions.

Percussion students interested in drumline must be enrolled in Marching Band and be placed on the drumline through an audition taking place at the end of April/early May. Dates TBA.

COLORGUARD: Sign up for Marching Band AND the COLOR/WINTERGUARD CLASS through CUSD. Auditions for colorguard will take place at the end of April. Students must be accepted into the guard through an audition process. Dates TBA.
