We can't wait to have you join our team of excited and enthusiastic students! Being a member of our band program means hard work, dedication, passion, and enthusiasm. Get ready!

If you are an incoming 7th or 8th grader (woodwinds and brass)...

  • There are two options for you: Cadet Band (no audition) or Concert Band (audition required).

  • First, sign up for Cadet Band. If you are interested in auditioning for a higher ensemble (Concert Band), email the director for audition and placement information. Auditions happen at the end of April each year.

  • PERCUSSIONISTS - Sign up for Percussion Ensemble.

If you are an incoming 9th through 12th grader....

  • WOODWINDS AND BRASS: Sign up for Symphonic Band, but schedule an ensemble placement audition as soon as possible. Chair placement auditions will happen at the beginning of the school year.

  • PERCUSSIONISTS: Sign up for Percussion Ensemble.

  • If interested in being in Marching Band, this is a separate class to sign up for. Note: it is Casteel Band Policy that in order to be in Marching Band, they must also be enrolled in a primary concert band during the school day. Some exceptions can be made - email the director with these questions.

  • Percussion students interested in drumline must be enrolled in Marching Band and be placed on the drumline through an audition taking place at the end of April/early May. Dates TBA.

  • COLORGUARD: Sign up for Marching Band AND the COLOR/WINTERGUARD CLASS through CUSD. Auditions for colorguard will take place at the end of April. Students must be accepted into the guard through an audition process. Dates TBA.
